A purchase order is late, available stock is already reserved, a received batch is still under inspection, or one component was missed when an urgent order changed the plan. Why shortages stay hidden

Route each shortage through one workflow

  3. Assess impact. Identify affected jobs, quantities, operations, and dates.
  4. Assign. Give the alert an owner and response deadline.
  5. Act. Expedite, reschedule, split, transfer, source, substitute through approval, or revise the plan.
  6. Verify. Confirm that the action changed usable supply or affected-job timing.
  7. Close. Record the outcome and reason so recurring causes can be reviewed.
